TO CORRESPONDENTS
In answer to our correspondent " J. P." we beg to say, with regard to the Horses to whom he refers, that for the sake of modest propriety,—although we. are not competent ,to judge of the matter as professed grooms—we deem it best to send both the males and females to whom he refers to as great a distance as possible, to save the town from disgrace. " Jack in the Box" is respectfully recommended to propose the name of Monthly Chronicle, or Monthly Register. Journal means a diary or daily record, and if events of each clay are not noted, we deem the title to be inapplicable. Our Slate River Correspondent will observe that we have inserted his name in our list of agents ; and we take this opportunity of thanking him for the interest he has taken in the publication, and has our best wishes that he may promote its circulation in his district.
