HUTT ELECTION.

The election of five memberTlo represent the Hutt District in the Provincial Council took place at the Hutt, on Monday last. There were eight candidates in the field, five belonging to Mr. Wakefield's party, and three on the Constitutional side. The day was very fine, and a great number of visitors from town wore present. The following is the final state of the poll as declared by the Returning Officer. Ludlam, 130—Hart, 136—Corbett, 137—Phillips, 124—Wilcock, 116—Renall, 97—Fitzherbert, 92—M'Kenzie, 88. The first five Candidates were declared duly elected. The Candidates shortly addressed the electors, thanking them for their support and then separated.
