MOTUEKA.

At the sitting- of the Magistrates, on Saturday, November 7th, the following cases were heard and disposed of":— Thomas v. C. Parker.—A summons for damage done by the trespass of defendant's cattle. Defendant stated that he had offered to pay for any damage at a fair valuation, but objected to being compelled to do so on account of the bad state of the fence. Verdict for plaintiff, with costs. Defendant gave notice of appeal. Handyside v. Loveli-, Taylor, Gillett, and others.—A similar action to the above. Verdict for plaintiff, with costs. Handyside v. E. D. Salisbury.—A claim for £17 10s. The defendant not appearing, a verdict was given for the plaintiff, with costs.
