Per John "Matilda, from Motupipi: 1 ton coals, 500 feet timber (New' Zealand produce). The brig Drover arrived in Wellington with 75 passengers for Nelson diggings, a considerable number oT whom remained in Wellington to prosecute the captain for a breach of the Passenger Act. The Alert would leave Melbourne for Nelson direct full of passengers. The Tasmanian Maid brought over, last evening, 7 pounds weight of gold obtained from the Takaka diggings, of which 60 .ounces were procured by Mr. Askew and party. The brig Burnett, advertised in the Sydney papers to sail for Wellington and Nelson, was spoken at Port Nicholson heads by the Wonga Wonga.
