ROCHDALE AND PIPE BAND VISIT ARAPUNI
At a meeting held this week it was decided to form a new marching team to be known as the Te Awamutu Kilties. The colours will be dark green, black and red uniform, Cameron kilt drummers’ jacket, with blouse, and Cameion tartan tie.
Mrs. N. Roa was appointed secretary and Mr. John Bartley the coach. The following girls will comprise the team: Misses :N. Roa, D. Roa, C. Shirley, H. Hannah, B. Day, M. Mclvor, B. Wall, N. Flutey and J. Moxham. The selection of a leader was deferred until the girls have gained marching experience. The formation of the team now brings the marching teams up to four in number. They are Rochdale, Rochdale Junior, Ascot, and the Kilties. It is hoped that the public will accord the new team a full measure of support and thus further the interests of marching in Te Awamutu. Rochdale Visit Arapuni
The Rochdale team visited Arapuni during last week-end when they gave a display that was greatly appreciated by aeilarge number of spectators. The team was accompanied by the Te Awamutu Pipe Band, who not only provided excellent music for th© marching displays, but who played several .selections. The band was in good form and their items added considerably to the enjoyment of a very pleasant day.
