ROAD EXPENDITURE AND RATE COLLECTION LATTER CHARACTERISED AS VERY GOOD The treasurer’s report as presented by Mr Ml P. Goldsbro’ to Monday’s meeting of the Otorohanga County Council was as follows: Honikiwi Riding expended £863 on highways, riding share £216; other roads, riding expenditure £1175; total riding expenditure £1391; estimate for year, £l4OO. Mangaorongo Riding: Highways expended £655, riding share £164; other roads riding expenditure £2420; total riding expenditure £2584; estimate for year £3025. Te Rau-a-Moa Riding: Highways, expended £1720, riding share £430; other roads, riding expenditure £2317; total riding expenditure £2747; estimate for year £1875. Whipa Riding. Highways, expended £697, riding share £174; other roads, riding expenditure £1751; total riding expenditure £1925; estimate for year £1675. Wharepapa Riding: Highways, expended £1144; riding share £286; other roads, riding expenditure £2439; total riding expenditure £2725; estimate for year £2660. Rates Honikiwi Riding: Struck £2090, collected £1974; percentage collected 94.45; arrears collected £27. Mangaorongo Riding: Current struck £6679; collected £6576; percentage collected 98.46; arrears collected £432. Te Rau-fa-Moa; Current struck £4O- - collected £3825; percentage collected 93.90; arrears collected £257. Waipa Riding: Current struck £3704; collected £3613; percentage collected 97.54; arrears collected £276. Wharepapa Riding: Current struck £6089; collected £5943; percentage collected 97.60; arrears collected £2ll. Maori Rates Honikiwi Riding: Current £47; arrears collected £49. Mangaorongo Riding. Current £l7; arrears collected £l3. Te Rau-a-Moa Riding: Current £5; arrears collected £B9. Waipa Riding: Current £24; arrears collected £l5. Wharepapa Riding: Current £161; arrears collected £lBO. That the rate collection was very good was the expressed opinion of the Council as a whole.
