SEQUEL TQ RUKUHIA THEFTS TE AWAMUTU YOUTHS CHARGED IN HAMILTON The Hamilton detectives affected a smart arrest on Saturday wßen, following reports that the clubrooms of the Waikato Aero Club had been broken into on Friday night, they arrested two suspects in Hamilton just b<-.»'ore 7 p.m. Wiien the detective office was notified on Saturday morning that the burglary had occurred, DetectiveSergeant C- I?. Taylor was placed in charge of the investigations and he mim liately left for the scene. Following on advice received from the Te Awamutii 'police of a cache of what was believed to be stolen goods being found in the rear of a Te Awamutu garden, the Hamilton office directed Mr Taylor to Te Awamutu where he was met by Constables J. G. Williamson and E. D. Costello who assis.ed in conducting investigations. As a result Mr Taylor was able to ring through during the afternoon to the Hamilton police describing a car and two young men whom he suspected.

Last Monday morning in the Magistrate’s Court, Hamilton, before Mr S'. L. Paterson, S.M., Raymond Mckay, aged 20 years and Raymond George Hoare. aged 20 years, both from Te Awamutu, and formerly of Wellington, appeared facing charges of allegedly breaking and entering the premises of the Waikato Aero Club. On the application of Senior- Detective W. R. Murray they were remanded to appear in Hamilton on TCpriT 4, next Tuesday.

Third Arrest A third man, Gordon Frank Lee, aged 24, who was working in the Te Awamutu district, was arrested in Te Awamutu last Monday in connection with the breaking and entering of the Waikato Aero Club’s premises at Rukuhia on Friday night. The arrest was jmade by Detective Sergeant C. D. Taylor and Constable H. Lilley. Appearing before Mr S. L. Paterson, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court, Hamilton, yesterday. Lee asked that his name be suppressed. He. had been working for a well-known Palmerston North firm as a salesman in the Te Awamutu district, and did not wish the firm’s name to suffer, he said. The magistrate refused the application for suppression. Lee was remanded until April 4.
