ARIA AUTUMN CATTLE FAIR VERY KEEN COMPETITION Newton King Limited report on their cattle fair held at Aria last Monday, when a large yarding of forward-condition, well-grown station cattle were penned. Competition on fat cattle- was extremely keen, whilst local and Waikato buyers competed freely on store cattle. Values real* ised were well up to vendors’ expectations. The entry of Jersey heifers in calf showed the effect of the dry spell, but though competition was limited vendors met the market in most instances, and altogether a successful sale resulted. Realisations for the various lines are as follows: Fat bullocks £l7 19s to £2O, fat cows £l4 to £l5 4s, fat heifers £l3 7s 6d to £l6 4s, 2i-year Polled Angus steers £l4 17s 6d to £l6 15s, 18month steers £l2 to £l4 Is, Jersey heifers in calf £2 to £l3, 2 and 4-tooth wethers £2 2s to £2 ss.
