“TENNERS”
WHAT COLOUR ARE THEY What colour is a £lO New Zealand note ? When Mr Leary was questioning a witness in the Supreme Court about £lO notes, he told Mr Justice Callan he thought it was brown. “I have not even seen them. I imagine they’re brown,” he said. His Honour: “Misers must have them.”
Well, what colour is a £lO note l A reporter tried to check up. It wasn’t all that simple. He asked first a layman.
“Don’t seen one,” was the reply. The second person thought it was green.
A third person also plumped for green. He was definite because, he said, he had held one in his hands for the first time recently. Then two Accounts Department “experts” were invited to answer the question. Each was quite certain it was a “pinky red” or “red-orange.” In case you aren’t sure, the colour is green.
