MORRINSVILLE STOCK SALE The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Limited reports as follows on the weekly stock sale held at Morrinsville on Friday that the entry of fat sheep was on a par with late sales, and prices were unchanged. Store lambs were in keen demand and values were in advance of recent sales. A larger entry of fat cows met a good demand and sold at very firm values. Boner and store cows were yarded in full numbers and these also met a firm sale. A few pens of medium heifer calves sold at recent values. A full yarding of both fat and store pigs was penned, baconers and porkers - being in keen demand, prices remaining firm. Store and weaner pigs were also keenly sought after, a good sale resulting. Sheep: Fat woolly hoggets to 625, fat shorn hoggets 42s to 44s 6d, light 38s to 40s, fat ewes 29s 6d to 30s 9d, fat lambs 33s to 375, good b.f. store lambs 22s 3d to 24s 9d, average 18s to 20s, 4 and 5 year ewes to 39s 6d. Cattle: Heavy fat young Jersey eows and heifers £9 to £lO 16s, lighter £8 to £8 15s, heavy boner cows £8 to £9, medium £6 to £7 10s, store cows £4 15s to £5 10s, bulls £7 7s 6d to £l3, medium Jersey heifer calves £5 to £5 13s. Pigs: Heavy choppers £7 to £8 17s, others £3 14s to £6 10s, prime heavy baconers £6 13s to £6 15s, heavy baconers £6 10s to £6 12s, medium £6 to £6 Bs, light £5 10s to £5 16s, heavy porkers £4 10s to £5 6s, medium £3 14s to £4 4s, light porkers £3 3s to £3 12s, large stores £2 10s to £3, smaller 36s 6d to £2 4s, slips 26s 6d to 32s 6d, weaners 10s to 235.
