INTER-HOUSE SWIMMING - SPORTS KEEN COMPETITION The Te Awamutu College held its annual inter-house swimming sports in the municipal baths last Friday. The events, which were controlled by the prefects, were run with commendable speed and efficiency. Excitement ran very high during the races and particularly so during the inter-house relays. The swimming was of a reasonably high standard and competitors were very keen indeed. Some dives provoked uncontrolled merriment due to their unorthodox execution, others, because of their excellent execution, hearty applause as well as murmurs of awe and approval. Some dives definitely are not in the New Zealand Swimming Association’s manual but. nevertheless were neatly performed. Gorst won the most points on the day with 119, Melrose came next with 116, then Cameron with 71, followed by Selwyn with 63.
