Rain Appreciated

Exceptionally heavy rain fell at Otahuhu and Auckland yesterday and a brief but sharp thunderstorm was experienced. Rain also fell at Clevedon on Saturday afternoon and it marred, to a certain extent, the Show that was held there. Several farmers said that the rain was most welcome and outweighed any discomfort caused patrons of the Show. One farmer told a Courier reporter that the dry spell experienced in the Clevedon district had caused a marked decline in dairy production. “For all the milk I get from my herd I might as well milk them only once a day” said the farmer in question. The temperature on Saturday night was exceptionally high. %
