VIEW BOOKLET

SOME FINE PHOTOGRAPHS It is many years since a view booklet of Te Awamutu was published, and the -folio of views now being offered on the market will meet a real need. Commencing with a short history of th£ town and district, the booklet gives some rather interesting facts with special reference to the early settlers’ days. There is a very fine reproduction of the historic St John’s Church, showing the memorial erected in memory of the Maori heroes who fell in early battles. To try and 'condense pictures of this fertile district into a dozen or so views is well nigh impossible, but the booklet has produced a representative range, not forgetting the dairy farming angle, with a view of the dairy factories.

There are good photographs of the Primary School and Te Awamutu College, with a close-up of the War Memorial. The view from the Cambridge Road, with Pirongia Mountain in the background is most impressive. Victoria Park, with its many attractions, shows, up to advantage. Views of the shopping centre are very clear.

It is hoped by the publishers that this booklet will do much to publicise our town and district, not only in New Zealand, but overseas.
