ENJOYABLE CONCERTS

BY METHODIST CHURCH CHOIR VISITS TO WAIKERIA AND TOKANUI On Tuesday last the Choir of Te Awamutu Methodist Church formed a concert party to visit Tokanui Hospital and W.aikeria Training Farm. Tokanui was the first port of call, and when the programme had been presented there the party proceeded to Wlaikeria. At both places the visitors were given a most enthusiastic reception, and keen appreciation was expressed for the entertainment pro vided. But the entertaining was not one-sided: at each place the visitors were provided with dainty and plentiful refreshments, thus adding to the general enjoyment of the outing. In addition to items by the full Choir and a quintet by the Misses ' Joyce Rosser, Gladys Thomas, and Elsie Nobes, and Messrs Garth Cullen and Gordon Harris, solos were presented by Miss Hazel Fear (contralto), Mirs V. Collison and Miss Joyce Rosser (sopranos), Miss Gladys Thomas (mezzo-soprano), Mr Gordon Harris (baritone), and Mr Ken Lewis (tenor). Mr Garth Cullen contributed humorous recitations which were much appreciated. Mrs Ray Cullen was an able and efficient accompanist.
