TE RORE NEWS
MONTHLY SOCIAL EVENING Despite very adverse weather conditions a very good attendance of parents and children as well as young folk of the district spent another very ■enjoyable evening. Many and varied were the games played and enjoyed by both children and adults whilst numerous lollie scrambles were very popular. Sketches by Misses Dawn and Olwyn Bell, the rendering of the song, “Dear Harp of Erin” and the recitation “The Congo” by Misses Dorothy Stewart, Flora and Shirley Lambeth, Majorie Edwards and Master Jim Lambeth were well received. A novelty “Statue” waltz was won by Mr Bill Bell and Miss O. Bell, and the prize for musical sticks went to Miss Shirley Lambeth. Music for the evening was excellently rendered by Miss I. Hight, Miss O. Bell and Miss D. Stewart, and a very nice supper was supplied by the ladies attending. Mr S. Lambeth was M.C.
The proceeds of the evening will be devoted to the Te Rore Christmas Tree.
