FENCING WIRE

UNRAVELLED CABLE USED One hundred miles of fencing wire, sufficient to fence 16 or 17 miles of land settlement blocks, would probably result from the unravelling of several tons of steel cable which had been acquired by the Lands and Survey Department from the War Assets Realisation Board, said the Minister of Rehabilitation, the Hon. C. F. Skinner, speaking at the quarterly meeting of the Rehabilitation Council. The wire so obtained would be difficult to work, but he considered it would make good fencing wire once it was up.

The council was discussing the difficulties in obtaining wire for the rehabilitation land settlement programme.
