Causes of Insanity

’Alcohol accounted for only 17 cases in the total of principal assigned causes of insanity in New Zealand in 1947. This is stated in the annual report of the Mental Hygiene division of the Department of Health. The aggregate under the various principal causes for 1947 is 1739.
