Mrs M. Copestake and her small daughter are at present on a visit to the former’s parents. Mr and Mrs J. Waters, Goodfellow Street.
The Prime Minister (Mr Fraser), arrived at Frankton by train this morning on a brief visit to inspect the progress being made with the ‘Restoration of homes and other buildings damaged by the recent tornado. He will motor to Auckland this evening and will return by air to Wellington to-morrow morning.
The death occurred in the Waikato Hospital, Hamilton, last Saturday morning of Mr William Hunter, who had been a resident of Te Awamutu for the past eight years. During that period Mr Hunter was employed by Mr J. H. Burns, and he was one of the old type of employee who rendered faithful and excellent service to his employer. He was of a retiring disposition, but ever friendly and kindly. His wife pre-deceased him some years ago, but he is survived by two sisters, to whom the sympathy of local residents will be extended. The fpneral took place in Hamilton to-day.
