“Social Insanity”
Nearly £.132,000,000 was wagered on greyhound racing tracks in England, Scotland, and Wales during the past year, according to the churches committee on gambling. This figure shows a drop of £68,000,000 compared with the previous year's figure. The committee states that this “may indicate a tendency on the part of the more intelligent citizen to recognise the economic and social insanity of the gambling racket in general.”
