TE AWAMUTU STOCK SALE The Fanners’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co. Ltd. report that at their stock sale held at Te Awamutu on Thursday, a good entry of both fat and store sheep met a very keen demand. Fat ewes offered on account of Mr H. S. McWilliams realised the top price of 46s 6d. The advertised entry of wether, lambs and ewe lambs were keenly competed for, changing hands at prices in advance of recent sales. An extra heavy yarding of ox beef met a very keen demand from local and outside buyers, top quality bullocks selling to £27, this price being secured by Mr H. S. McWilliams, of Puahue. Cow and heifer beef- was penned in small numbers, values being on a par with recent sales. A medium entry of store and boner cows was again keenly sought. Dairy cattle were offered in limited numbers and met a ready sale. A light yarding of pigs came forward, values being fully firm on central rates. Sheep: Medium fat wethers 40s to 425, prime fat ewes to 46s 6d, heavy fat lambs 40s to 445, light 35s to 38s, light 30s 6d to 345, top w.f. wether lambs 26s 6d to 29s Bd, smaller 25s 3d to 265, good Romney ewe lambs to 32s 6d. .

Cattle: Heavy prime fat bullocks £25 to £27, medium £2O to £24, lighter £lB 10s to £l9 10s, light and unfinished £l7 to £lB, heavy boner cows £7 to £B, medium £5 5s to £6 10s, light £4 5s to £5.

Dairies: Best quality dairy heifers £l3 to £l5, later calvers £ll 10s to £l2 ss, backward and small £lO to £ll, good quality dairy cows (July calvers) £l2 10s to £l4, August calvers £ll 5s to £l2, backward dairy cows £lO to £ll.

Pigs: Heavy choppers £6 5s to £7, porkers £3 15s to £4 Is, store pigs £2 10s to £3 ss, weaners to 345, sows to farrow £lO to £ll 15s, sows with litters to £l4.

The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co. Ltd., report that at their, weekly stock sale held at Morrinsville today a full yarding of fat sheep were in keen demand and prices were a shade firmer. Fat and boner cows were penned in smaller numbers and values for both classes remained firm. Two empty heifers were also firm of sale while the offering of yearling jersey heifers showed little variation in price. A large entry of dairy cattle including a herd on account of Mr F. Waddell. There was a good inquiry for early calvers but late calvers were slower of sale. Good jersey heifers met a ready sale at recent rates. A medium yarding of all classes of pigs was penned. Store pigs and breeding sows were again in keen demand, a good sale resulting. Sheep: Fat wethers to 535, light fat ewes to 30s, heavy fat lambs 40s to 44s 3d, medium fat lambs 36s to 38s, light fat lambs 32s to 345. Cattle: Light fat young Jersey cows £8 to £9 10s, killable cows £7 to £7 16s, boner cows £6 to £7 15s, store cows £4 to £5 10s, two-year empty Jersey heifers £5 to £6, yearling Jersey heifers £6 17s to £7 19s.

Dairies: Good quality close up Jersey cows £lB to £2O 10s, medium quality £l5 to £l6 10s, later calvers £lO to £l2 10s, good quality heifers £l5 to £l6 10s, later calvers £ll to £l3, calved heifers £l2 to £l4.
