FAREWELL PARTY At the home of Mr and Mrs B. Wall was the gathering of a very large crowd to farewell their daughter Lola, now Mrs Shepard, who has now left on the Marine Phoenix to join her husband in Seattle. Mr A. Papesch was called upon to present Mrs Shepard with a beautiful array of gifts from the people of Kihikihi and surrounding districts to which Mrs Shepard replied suitably. Items from several of the guests were thoroughly enjoyed by all. Among those present were visitors from Auckland, Pukekohe, Ngaruawahia, Taranaki and Eltham. The evening closed with the singing of ‘.'Now is the Hour” and “Old Lang Syne.” Personals Miss S. Jones has returned to Wellington after spending the week-end with her sister, Mrs T. Brown. The many friends of Mr J. Finiay will be sorry to learn that he is now a patient in the Waikato Hospital. Mr M. Jones is a patient in a private hospital in Te Awamutu. Mrs Mclndoe has returned to her home in Kihikihi after spending a few weeks with relatives in Whakatane. Mrs A. Rowan of Pukekohe is the guest of Mrs C. Wall.
