80th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED To mark the occasion of Mr and Mrs Stewart Reid’s 80th birthday, a garden party was hpld recently at “Homewood,” Te Rore, at the residence of Miss Hodgson and Mr and Mrs O’Regan. Competitions and games were enjoyed by all. Friends and relations were present from Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, and Ngahinepouri. Mrs N. Reid presented Mrs Reid with a beautiful shoulder spray, and Mr Reid with a buttonhole. A sumptuous afternoon tea was served in the dining room. The birthday cake was made and decorated by Mrs R. Thomas. The usual toasts were duly honoured. Mrs O’Regan acted as hostess, assisted by Mrs Thomas'and Mrs Taylor. Numerous telegrams and presents were received.
