WEDDING

OF LOCAL KAWHIA INTEREST MEAD—HILLS \_ The wedding took place at St. George’s Church, Frankton, on April 17, of Margaret Beatrice, daughter of Mr and Mrs A. E. Hills, of Kawhia, and Murray Joseph, son of Mrs K. Mead, of Waitetuna. The bride was in a dress of off-white embossed cloque with long sleeves, spade neckline, and close-fitting bodice, with a trained skirt of impressed pleats. The embroidered veil, of tulle w r as held in place by a coronet of orange blossom. The bride carried a bouquet of roses and lilies. The bridesmaids, Pamela Hills and “Belle” Mead, wore groundlength frocks of mist blue taffeta, cut on similar lines to the bride’s. They wore head sprays and carried bouquets of autumn tinted chrysanthemums. The bride’s mother wore an ensemble of lime green wool jersey cloth with brown accessories and a spray of autumn tints. The bridegroom’s mother wore a black and white ensemble with white accessories and a spray of red carnations. The reception followed at the Centreway and afterwards at the home of Mr and Mrs R. J. Bollard. For travelling Mrs Murray Mead wore a hazel brown frock and a coat of honey beige angora wool. At the church, and at the reception, Miss Joy Parkin sang solos. After the service at the church she sang “Bless this House” and at the reception two numbers, “Cagtles in the Air” and “The Lord’s Prayer.”
