CHAMPION PIPE BAND
TO APPEAR IN TE AWAMUTU
NEXT TUESDAY NIGHT’S ATTRACTION
On Tuesday night the public of Te Awamutu and district will have the opportunity of seeing and hearing the Hamilton Caledonian Band, which at the Dunedin competitions, won the premier honours for New Zealand. The Band is recognised as being the finest in the Dominion, and their appearance in Te Awamutu is being eagerly awaited. The Band will march from the Post Office to the College Hall, where they, supported by leading Hamilton artists, will give a grand concert. Mr A. J. Sinclair will give an address, taking as his subject Sir Walter Scott. Mr Sinclair’s fame as an orator and as an authority on Scottish authors is too well known to need elaboration. The concert is sponsored by the Presbyterian Men’s Club, and the total proceeds will go towards the Food Parcels for Britain fund. The concert, which promises to be the outstanding, event of the year, should attract a crowded house.
