AROUND THE BOROUGH
FOREMAN’S REPORT PLENTY OF WORK IN HAND The report of the Borough Foreman, Mr R. H. Close, which was adopted without discussion at Monday night’s meeting of the Borough Council read as follows: For the past two weeks we have been doing the following work: Finishing the topdressing of Albert Park. Putting pipes in ths drain at the rubbish dump. Completing the laying of the water mains in Puniu Road. We have put the sewer in Maxwell’s Road and laid 10 services to the sections. We have concreted crossings in Young Street and Bank Street, and concreted the path in front of Maxwells’ property in Kihikihi Road. At present we are putting down the "concrete around the swimming baths and altering the draining to suit the new dressing sheds. I am only reporting on the work we are finishing as we have plenty of work to keep us going until the end of the financial year. The general maintenance work has been attended to regularly.
