New Highways Districts

The Main Highways Board has decided that it is desirable, in the interests of better administration and supervision, to divide the No. 2 Highways District, formerly based on Auckland, into two districts, to be known as No. 2A and No. 28. The first extends from Rodney and Warkworth southward to include the counties of Franklin, Thames and Coromandel, while the second district extends from the southern, boundaries of No. 2A to include the counties of Raglan, Waikato, Piako, Waipa, Matamata and Otorohanga, and the town districts (not forming part of a county) of Leamington, Putaruru and Otorohanga.
