SPRING FLOWER SHOW
[ ST. JOHN’S WOMEN’S AUXILIARY • A LOVELY DISPLAY OF BLOOMS The success which attended yesterday’s Spring Flower Show held in the Parish Hall under the auspices of the St. John’s Women’s Auxiliary, has provided enough encouragement for expansion next year. Good entries in the various classes, and the quality and fragrance of the flowers, reflected the favourable growing weather of the past few weeks and the desire of many people to exhibit the results of their gardening efforts for the pleasure of others. That, together with the able wprk of preparing and staging the exhibits, made a very lovely and pleasing display to all those who visited the hall during the afternoon and evening. At the conclusion of the show Mrs F. Loomb, president of the St. John’s Women’s Auxiliary, and Mrs Neilson, secretary, both expressed their sincere thanks to the committee and all those who had contributed towards the success of the function.
