THE PONY STALLION MASTER OSKER TO STAND AT MANGAPIKO BRED BY MRS FRENDRUP, WAIHI The Sire of Master was a pony of somewhat obscure breed, but both apparently and reputedly was an Arab; very attractive in appearance and ieaving nice stock. His Dam, a 30-year-old mare by General Soult—Soult (imp.), was also the sire of Gold Soult, St. Amans, and many others sufficiently good'W place him in his day leading sire in New Zealand for 3 years, maity being jumpers. Master Osfier was not bred for stud purposes but for a present to a grand-daughter of the one-time owner of Soult—so the use of Soult blood in the dam was not evidently accidental. The choice of dam and sire was carefully studied to provide the idealistic pony for a child of a family to whom, to breed, or to have a good horse, was life's great ambition and satisfaction. The ideal was attained, but circumstances prevented the acceptance of the gift, and the breeder had the little horse on her hands, and later on I found him in mine with the intention of gelding. The Veterinary Surgeon consulted protested, advised me to reconsider my intention, pointing out the pony’s quality and breeding, and advised retaining as a stallion. After a long period of indecision I am following the vet’s, advice. Master Osker is a dark chestnut with a while blaze on face, extraordinarily intelligent with great spirit, beautiful styles, constitution, movement excellent, absolutely sound, and wonderfully coupled up. Master Osker’s breeder is hardly necessary to introduce. She is known everywhere good horses and good horsemen meet. Fee £4. limited to 5 mares plus one, the plus one being a free service to the first boy or girl to apply in writing either himself or by his or her parents’ consent, -with the intention of breeding their own pony. INSPECTION INVITTID. W. ALEXANDER, R.M.D., Mangapiko. ' Phone 163 K.
