GOOD PRICES MAINTAINED TE AWAMUTU SALE A good entry of all classes of sheep and a full penning of cattle came forward at Messrs Dalgety and Co’s. Te Awamutu stock sale held on Thursday. Competition in the sheep section was steady, there being little alteration in values on recent quotations. The demand for ox beef remained firm. P.A. and Hereford bullocks from Mr F. Hastie realised £l5 15s to £l6, while the figure of £l6 was also reached for a pen of P.A. bullocks from Mr J. Bayly. Boner cows sold at unchanged rates, while fof the yarding of Jersey heifer calves a satisfactory salp resulted. The yarding of fat and store pigs was very light but late rates were maintained. Competition for prime wethers . was keen, and recent advanced rates were obtained. No fat ewes were penned. Fat lambs were penned in large numbers, and sold readily at very firm rates. A small entry of store lambs also met with steady bidding at recent improved rates, the yarding of ox beef included a proportion of unfinished lots. Well-fin-ished pens were keenly competed for, and realised advanced quotations. Prime cows and heifers also realised improved rates. Boner cows again sold at very firm prices. The offering of yearling Jersey heifers was also wanted, and here, too, prices were in advance of previous sale quotations.
