Sheep, Cattle, and Pig Values
At Frankton on Tuesday, at the usual weekly auction sale conducted by the Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, values for most lines of offerings were well maintained. Extra prime fat wethers were on a par with last week’s quotations, though other wethers and fat lambs were slightly easier, as were store sheep. There was a strong demand for ox beef, which sold at increased prices; cow and heifer beef was keenly competed for, and values showed a decided rise. A heavy supply of veal met a steady demand, with values remaining firm. Quotations for«fat pigs and stores remained firm on last week’s values, and stores and breeding sows were in keen demand at prices satisfactory to vendors. Sealing Chart.
