Bell From London School
A bell from a London school that was destroyed by bombs will hang in the new Waitara district high school (Taranaki)) when it is finished next year. A cable received from London recently advised that a bell will be sent from the Avonmore School, Fulham a populous district in the west of London. When the grant for Waitara’s new high school was approved the Waitara school committee wrote to the New Zealand High Commissioner in London, Mr W. J. Jordan, and asked him to procure a bell from a school in one of the blitzed areas. London County Council students will engrave the bell,
