KORAKONUI NEWS

ENTERTAINMENT BY DRAMA CLUB Korakonui Drama Club provided an excellent entertainment in Korakouni Hall on 21st September. The large audience was very appreciative of the artists, both visiting and local. The vocalists included Mrs L. Young, who sang most pleasingly, and a chorus consisting of Mrs Kerr and Misses E. Lawry, J. Lawry, B. Moyle, T. Fleming, V. Whitfield, and B. Bicknell, and their items were excellent. The talented young dancer, Miss E. North, gave two polished exhibitions. Messrs Baxter and Parker were in good voice for their solos, and as usual Mr Bert Hey delighted the audience with his humour. Mr Vincent’s violin solos added a pleasant note, and Master Brian Salmon, magician, was impressive and mysterious. Mr Mr Cook, pianist, rounded off the concert programme. Mrs E. T. Armstrong’s able accompanying was a great help to the Mrs Kirton, producer, in a short speech, introduced a one-act play, “ The Odd Streak,” by Roland Pertwee. The 'players were Mrs J. R. Kay, Mrs Lethbridge, Mrs R. Kerr, and Mrs T. H. White. They jail played their parts with confidence aijd understanding, and the whole play reflected great credit both on the producer and the players. The concert programme was followed by supper and dancing to the music of Messrs Cook and Maddern.
