UNUSUAL REMIT An unusual remit came forward at last executive meeting of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union (Auckland Province) from Awhitu reading as follows: Re a hostel .for country bys, who have to leave home to attend school or work in the city, where they can get suitable accommodation and supervision and an opportunity to indulge in clean, healthy sports; that the New Zealand Farmers’ Union (Auckland Province) appoint a representative to work in conjunction with the various interested organisations in the city; and that if a suitable organisation can be established the branches of the Farmers’.Union, by way of subscription, give it their financial support. The secretary was instructed to make enquiries to see whether or not there was a possiiblity of action being taken on the lines of the remit.
