Cronin’s herd of 40 grade Jersey cows was held, and competition for these was animated, top price being £24„ the whole hefd averaging £l6 Is. Buyers were present from as far afield as Rotorua, and a total clearance was effected in all sections at values well up on recent rates. Competition for grade bulls was very strong, good 2-year service bulls selling to £l7 and good grade yearling bulls to £ll. Quotations:— Spring lambs 31s, fat ewes 19s to 225, lighter 16s Id to 17s 9d, fat bullocks £l4 15s to £l5 15s, fat cows from dairy £6 to £6 12s 6d, forward cows £4 5s to £5 10s, store cows £3 to £3 18s, empty heifers £5 to £5 Bs, yearling Jersey heifers £7, small to £5 12s 6d. * Four-year 'pedigree Jersey buli|s 18 to 20 gns., yearling pedigree Jersey bulls 15 to 25 gns., grade, 2-year ditto £lO to £l7, grade Ayrshire bulls £8 to £ll 10s, yearling Jersey bulls £6 to £ll.
