Building Loans
The Waipa County Council decided on Monday to raise the limit of loans under the rural housing scheme from £l2OO to £l5OO. During the discussion that took place that led to the limit being raised, it was ascertained that a returned soldier had applied to the rehabilitation authorities for a loan to build a house in the country but that body referred the applicant to the Waipa County Council. Several Councillors expressed themselves asbeing curious as to the reason for the rehabiltation authority’s action,
