POKURU TENNIS CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Pokuru Tennis Club was held in the Kakepjiku .Hall on Monday, 3rd September. The chairman in his report said the 194445 season has been under the circumstances quite a successful one. During the season home and return matches were played against the Te Kawa and Te Mawhai Clubs, and visits *were also made to Te Rahu and Kihikihi. Also a number of local tournaments were held and greatly enjoyed by all. The chairman, in thanking his officers and committee, said with the return of peace-time conditions we may look forward to much more activity in the club, and in the sport of tennis generally. The following officers were elected for the year: Patron, Mr W. Melville; president, Mr E. Gormly; vice-presi-dent, Mr E. Melville; captain, Mr A. Hollinshead; vice-captain, Miss P. Melville; secretary and treasurer, Miss I. Ray; committee, Mesdames B. Boswell, W ; . Clarke, Miss P. Melville, Messrs E. Gormly, E. Melville, A. Hollinshead, E. Marx and W. Corboy.
