TE AWAMUTU BRANCH The Te Awamutu Women’s Institute held their monthly meeting in the Parish Hall when Mrs Angus presided. The meeting was opened with “God Defend New Zealand,” followed by the “Aspiration.” Two new members were proposed at the meeting. Mrs Ward tendered her resignation as treasurer owing to her leaving the district, and Mrs Rae was appointed in her place. Mrs O’Brien read an interesting account of the Federation annual meeting. The winner of the cup competition was Mrs O’Brien, and Mrs Woodward second. The miscellaneous competition was won by Mrs Tolich with Mrs Angus second. The best bloom was won by Mrs Montefiore, with Mrs Roberts second. The “wandering shilling” was won by Mrs Tailby. The roll call, “Something I want to know,” brought forward some very helpful suggestions. Mrs Armstrong and Miss Ashe then delighted members with two pianoforte duets. ’
