MORRINSVILLE STOCK SALE The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report:—At their weekly stock sale held at Morrinsville on Friday a medium entry of sheep came forward and sold at prices on a par with late rates. Store lambs were penned in medium numbers and sold at prices slightly easier than recent values. A good offering of beef was in demand and values improved on last sale. A heavy yarding of boner cows was again keenly competed for by exporters, and recent firm values were maintained. The yarding of stores come forward in good prder and sold at rptes easily on a par with recent sales. A small entry of dairy cattle was offered to a large bench of buyers. Competition was fair and a total clearance was effected at prices on a par with late rates for close-up heifers and cows, while later calvers were not so keenly sought. A very large yarding of pigs came forward. Competition for baconers and porkers was very steady, prices realised being fully up to new schedule rates. The demand for stores and weaners was also very keen, values being in advance of those ruling last week. Quotations: — Sheep: Prime medium wethers 26s 6d to 27s 3d, medium fet ewes to 17s 6d, heavy fat lambs 27s to 29s 6d, medium 23s to 255, light 19s to 21s, good white faced store lambs 14s to 15s 9d, medium 11s 6d to 13s, small 9s to 10s 6d, medium black faced lambs 12s to 14sh 4d, small 9s to 11s 6d.

MORRINSVILLE HEIFER FAIR

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Limited reports holding its second annual dairy heifer fair at Morrinsville last Tuesday. There was a large and representative attendance of buyers, and

competition throughout was keen. A choice line of two-year Jersey heifers offered on behalf of Mr J. Gaddes sold to £l3 7s 6d, and choice heifers on behalf of Mr W. Dickie sold from £l2 to £l2 15s. Prices were as follow: Choice-quality two-year Jersey heifers £l2 to £l3 17s 6d, good twoyear Jersey heifers £lO to £ll 10s, medium two-year heifers £8 5s to £9 15s, choice three-year Jersey heifers £lO to £ll 15s, medium three-year Jersey heifers £8 10s to £9 10s, twoyear Ayrshire heifers £9 to £lO 10s, calved heifers £8 to £lO.

“KEREONE” PEDIGREE SALE

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., held a successful sale of pedigree Shorthorn cattle at Fairfield, Hamilton, on Wednesday last, on behalf of Mr R. D. Cochrane, comprising pedigree bulls and yearling and two-year heifers. The cattle came forward from the Kereone Stud in excellent order and were offered under ideal conditions before a representative attendance of buyers. Mr Alan Horn, of the Company’s Stud Stock Department, acted as sales manager, with Mr J. E. Aurisch in the rostrum. Competition throughout was keen especially for good yearling bulls and two-year heifers, and practically every lot changed hands, and prices generally being above those obtained at previous sales.

RABBITSKIN SALE

STRONG DEMAND INCREASED PRICES Dalgety and Co., Dunedin, report an attractive catalogue of 12 tons of all grades and descriptions at May’s auction and disposal of same at increased prices. As compared with April’s rates, racks were 3d to 6d. anid autumns 3d to 9d, dearer. The low grades also sold at advanced rates. Included in the offering were some nice parcels of early winters and incomings, which sold at satisfactory rates.
