TE AWAMUTU VETERINARY ASSOCIATION % 1 CONFERENCE ABOUT BOUNDARIES The chairman (Mr W. J. Hodgson) presided at the April meeting of the Executive, others present being the deputy-chairman, Mr H. R. Clarke, and Messrs G. Donaldson, G. R. Lawry, C. F. Reeve and H. C. Murphy (Otorohanga delegates), the Veterinary Surgeon, Mr M. E. Dodson, and the secretary, Mr R. F. Armstrong. An apology was received from Mr C. J. Flay, and leave of absence granted. Ohaupo meeting: The chairman and deputy-chairman reported on the meeting they attended at Ohaupo on April 7, 1944, and the excellent hearing they received.

Election of New Members: Applications received to date for membership were considered and accepted.

Dominion Federation Executive meeting, April 12 ,1944: Mr Clarke reported in connection with this meeting, and advised that he had been successful in reserving two veterinary surgeons for this association. Mr Clarke’s report was received and his action approved.

Conference re Boundaries: It was decided to suggest to the Morrinsville Club that a conference be held between the Morrinsville, Cambridge, Putaruru, and Te Awamutu Clubs on the question of bundaries. The chairman, deputy-chairman, and the Veterinary Surgeon were appointed delegates of this Association in the event of such conference taking place. Reports presented by the chairman and the secretary on matters affecting the future activities of the Association were then read to the meeting. Mr M. E. Dodson was appointed Senior Veterinarian as from the date of engagement of further veterinarians, and a special committee was set up to consider organisation details lyThe forthcoming annual general meeting was then discussed, and the following recommendations are to be placed before members then:— 1. That twelve wards be established throughout the Association’s area, four in Otorohanga, and eight in the Te Awamutu area, and that representation on the general committee be two representatives from each ward. 2. That the wards be as follows: Te Awamutu

1. Ngahape-Korakonui: All that area south of Tokanui Cross Roads Hall, Main South Road, Ngahape, Korakonui. 2. Pokuru-Te Mawhia: All that area of Pokuru to Burton’s corner, Te Mawhai and Main South Road from Tokanui Mental Hospital to Cross Roads Hall, including Waikeria Road. 3. Te Kawa-Ngutunui: All the area west of Tokanui Cross Roads Hall to Ngutuni, thence along Pirongia Road to Waipa Bridge. 4. Pirongia-Te Rore: All that area south of main Te Awamutu-Pirongia Road and Pirongia and Te Rore. 5. Te Rahu-Ngaroto: All that area south of Main Paterangi Road to Jary’s Road on Main South Road and all that area north of Main Cambridge Road. 6. Ohaupo - Paterangi - Ngahinapouri: All that area north of Jarys’ Road on Main South Road, including Kaipaki West, and north of Bank Road on Paterangi Road including Ngahinapouri, also all that area north of Mangapiko Pirongia Road. 7. Hairini-Puahue: All the area between Main Cambridge Road and Mangahoe Stream. Parawera: All that area south of Mangahoe Stream to Tokanui Mental Hospital Road on Main South Road. Otorohanga 1. Kio Kio: All that land north of the Waipa River and west of the Main South Road. 2. River Road: All that land north of the Waipa River and east of the Main South Road. Should any member of the Association have property on both sides of the road the situation of the homestead will decide which ward the member is in. 3. Honikiwi: All that land south of the Waipa River and west of the Mangapu River. 4. Whawharua: All that land south of the Waipa River and east of the Mangapu River. That the General Committee be increased to seven. 3. That the General Committee be also to be asked to consider a recommendation that the Otorohanga representatives on the committee elect three members on the Executive, and the Te Awamutu representatives elect four.
