Meet the President A man who has done much for junior fotballers is Mr William Whitton, president of the Waipa Rugby Union. Right along the years he has given encouragement to younger players and has thus helped in no small way to keep the old game going. One of the founders of the old United Club, winners of the championship, Bill Whitton has “boxed the compass” in administrative posts and was the first chairman of the Junior Advisory Board. When the football season end, ed Bill went into action as a cricketer, and for both branches of sport rendered good service—even to the extent of “dipping south” when club funds got low. He is still “on deck” at Albert Park.
