TE RORE BRANCH The third annual meeting of -the Te Rore Red Cross branch was held in the Te Rore Hall on 31st March last, when there was a fair attendance of members. Mrs Finn congratulated the committee ladies and the secretary on their good work during the past year. The balance-sheet was read and adopted as disclosing a wonderful effort, and, on behalf of members, the president thanked all for their support.
A report on the progress of the sewing and knitting circle was read by the secretary. The following committee was elected for 1943-1944: President, Mrs G. Finn, re-elected; secretary, Mrs W. McKinnon, re-elected; committee, Mesdames A. Bell, Coxhead, and L. Godfrey. It was decided to hold five hundred card evenings fortnightly through the coming months, two members being asked to be responsible for each evening, and to give as prizes national bonds. During afternoon tea a competition was held, Mesdames Lorimer and Anderson being the winners.
