COMMITTEE FORMED

LOCAL BODIES COMBINE At the conclusion of the patriotic zone meeting in Hamilton on Wednesday a combined meeting of representatives of all local bodies in the Waikato was held to discuss the problems of rehabilitation. After the meeting had been addressed by Mr T. G. Reynolds, chairman of the Hamilton Rehabilitation Committee, it was resolved, on the motion of Mr S. C. B. Macky (Waipa County), seconded by Mr H. D. Caro, to set up a permanent district organisation.

A committee, comprising one representative from each borough and county was set up to prepare a constitution for a permanent' organisation, while a district technical committee was appointed to prepare a plan for the post-war development of the whole district.

It is expected that the first meeting of the combined local bodies will be held shortly after Easter.
