GROSS TAKINGS £123 The ladies who worked so hard to make yesterday’s Paddy’s Market a success can now look back on a task well done, the financial result being splendid, gross takings amounting to £123. It proved once again that the people of Te Awamutu and district appreciate the work of the Plunket Society. Competition winners were: Hamper, Mrs George (Kihikihi); cake, Mrs Fleming (five people gussed the correct weight, 71b 4oz, Mrs Fleming winning on the draw); home-made biscuits, Mrs S. H. Wanklyn; rooster, Mr Pavlok; box chocolates, Mrs Neilson; peas in bottle, Mr Guy, senr; pottery vase, Mrs Sid Smith (Paterangi); porcelain vase, Mrs Campin (Roto-o-rangi); Chinese plate, Mrs W. Box; tea, Mrs J. Corboy (Pokuru).

Two competitions are still to be decided.
