SOLDIERS HONOURED

KIHIKIHI FUNCTION Lance-Corporal C. Jowsey and Private J. Mathers were guests of honour at a complimentary social in the Kihikihi Hall on Wednesday night. The chairman of the Town Board, Mr R. P. Robinson, presided and extended good wishes to the boys for a safe return. Mrs G. McGhie presented each soldier with a pocket wallet. The recipients suitably replied. For the dance during the evening excellent music was supplied by Mrs Brown, with extras by Mrs Symes. Mr J. Linehan was M.C. Musical items were given by Mrs Loach and Mr H. Flutey and family. Mrs Martin Smith acted as pianoforte accompanist. A demonstration of the magician’s art was given by Mr L. W. Spence.
