PRIMARY PRODUCTION

MEETING OF COMMITTEE A meeting of the Te Awamutu Primary Production Committee, held in R.S.A. rooms on Thursday last, those present being Mr A. S. Wyllie (chairman), W. McGill, E. E. Bryant, P. S. Alexander, C. North and G. T. Crawley. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs T. Skerman and P. Burton.

The chairman reported that the areas embraced by Ohaupo, Nghinepouri, Kaipaki and Tuhikaramea, are to have a direct representative by the appointment of a member to the Waikato Council. Since last meeting three girls have made application to join the Women’s Land Service and a number of Grade 2 men have also been placed in positions. A request was made for the release of an additional drover for 28 days. A conference between the Waikato and Te Kuiti Councils has been arranged to define boundaries between these areas.

Questionaires from men drawn in the last ballot for whom no appeals have been lodged were considered and recommendations made.
