INQUEST CONCLUDED

An inquest concerning the death at Kihikihi on April 10 last of Cecil Tracey Lees was concluded before the Coroner, Mr W. Jeffery, on Friday. The deceased man’s wife said that for some weeks her husband had been suffering from nerve trouble and had been receiving medical attention. Clough Blundell, medical practitioner, verified that he had been attending the deceased who, at the time, was in a very depressed state of mind. After further evidence had been given by Thomas Brown, Sidney Albert Whitehead, Hugh Shaw and Sidney George Clist, the Coroner returned a verdict that death was caused by poison, self administered, while in a state of acute mental depression.
