WHATAWHATA DEPUTATION A Whatawhata deputation waited on the Council in connection with the transference of the administration of the Whatawhata sub-division of the Te Rapa drainage area to the Council. Mr Thompson, member of the Te Rapa Drainage Board, gave details of past mal-administration, saying that if the County assumed responsibility for the area it would not be burdened in any way and the Whatawhata ratepayers would be greatly assisted. The signatures of 20 ratepayers on the petitioix represented all concerned with the exception of three. Decision was deferred, pending the arrival of a plaxx and information regarding classification and capital value. E.P.S. MATTER Mr Thompson also wrote pointing out how E.P.S. first aid cases were inadequate to deal with casualties awaiting removal to hospitals. A thermometer was not included, he said, and it was also essential that supplies of drugs for use in treating diseases, which often resulted from wounds, should be nxade available. The letter will be referred to the medical section of the E.P.S. • « LIGHTING OF HALL The secretary of the Kaipaki Hall Association stated that the Kaipaki Hall has been used oxx Thursday nights of each week for the past 18 months for Home Guard parades. Some time ago he wrote to the Home Guard for a donation to help to pay for the use of the hall, as the lighting expenses had considerably increased since the use has been made of the hall for Home Guard purposes. The Home Guard suggested that application should be made to the Waipa County Council for a grant. On the motion of Crs Allen and Clarke it was agreed to advise the secretary to apply to the Home Guard adjutant. LOCAL AMBULANCE Writing for the secretary of the St. John’s Ambulance, Mr F.
