Mrs D. Baxter, of Te Kuiti, is at present visiting her mother, Mrs Hallett, of Te Awamutu.

Mrs J. B. W. Roberton, accompanied by her daughter Margaret, after visiting friends in Hawke’s Bay, returned to Te Awamutu on Monday.

Mr A. H. Laybourne, postmaster at Te Awamutu, who has suffered ill health in recent weeks, resumed his duties yesterday morning.

Miss B. M. Bockett, of Parnell, Auckland, arrived in Te Awamutu last night and will spend some time visiting friends locally.

Mr and Mrs T. G. Culpan, of Katikati and formerly of Te Awamutu. have returned to Te Awamutu and are at present the guests of their daughter, Mrs H. G. Westgate, Mangapiko Street. ,

Mrs J. A- Howie, of Rewi Street, has received advice that her nephew, Private John Dodunski, of Whakatane, is a prisoner of war. He was reported missing in Crete twelve months ago.

At a meeting last night of the Te Awamutu branch of the Society for Closer Relations with Russia it was decided, on the motion of the president (Mrs R. Henderson), to send a letter of condolence to Mr and Mrs A. B. Allen, sympathising with them in the loss of their son, Private William Burnett Allen.

PIRONGIA PERSONALS Misses M. Simms, M. Robinson, D. Beet, T. Campbell, S. Bell and G. Bell have returned home after a pleasant trip to Rotorua. Mrs J. Beet and Mrs G. Owen have returned, after visiting friends at Hamilton. Friends will be very pleased to hear that Mrs G. Bainbridge, who has been suffering from a serious illness, has returned home and is improving slowly. TE RAU-A-MOA PERSONALS (Own Correspondent) Mr and Mrs J. Kinnard and Mr J. Kinnard jun., who have been spending a few days with Mr and Mrs W. H. Daysh, have returned to Whakatane. Miss F. Lemour, of Hamilton, who has been spending a short holiday with her sister, Mrs R. Hitchon, has now returned home.

Miss A. Pallister, of Henderson, was the guest of Mr and Mrs P. Wire recently.
