After the usual Bible Class meeting in the Bryant Memorial Hall yesterday afternoon, a very pleasing ceremony took place, when presentations were made to Miss Margaret Hebden and Miss Joy Whitehouse, who will leave, probably on Saturday next, for Auckland, where they will enter the Teachers’ Training College. Mrs N. Gallichan (leader of the Bible Class) presented both young ladies with copies of Moffatt’s Translation of the New Testament, and, in doing so, thanked the young ladies for the valuable services rendered the Methodist Church and wished them all good fortune and success in the profession they had decided to follow. Rev. H. Spencer and Mr Alan Brown (leader of the Men’s Bible Class) added their glowing testimony, after which the young ladies replied. Afternoon tea was supplied by members of the Ladies’ Bible Class.
