LM STOCK MARKET SALE AT OHAUPO Messrs Dalgety- and Company report having- held their usual Ohaupo sale on Friday last, when a large yarding of cattle met a very ready market, a good sale resulting. We quote: Good fat Shorthorn cows £6 5s to ,£7 ss, light ditto £4 15s to £5 6s, medium fat Jersey cows- £4 TBs' to- £5- . 11s, light ditto £4 10s to £4 14s, heavy ! boners £4 3s to £4 9s, medium boners £3 10s to £3 19s, lighter £2 Ils to £3 9s, bulls £1 2s to £1 15s. ROMNEY RAM FAIR OUTSTANDING SALE FLOCK RAMS to 17 GUINEAS l STUDS TO 40 GUINEAS One of the greatest quality offerings of Romney rams- ever submitted at auction in the Waikato came forward at the Waikato Sheepbreeders’ Association’s third annual Romney ram fair held at the Claudelands show grounds, Hamilton, on Thursday, 12th February. The fact that only two rams failed to reach the high standand demanded by the inspection appointed by the Association gives some indication of the quality and type of the sheep entered by the breeders at this fair. This was fully appreciated by the large bench of buyers present from as far afield as Auckland, Rotorua, Ohura, and Awakino. . ....... Top : for fille, flock .Romneys was 17 guineas, 102 flock rams being sold at double figures. Stud rams were keenly sought, top price being 10 guineas. The highest price for flock Romneys was secured by Mr F. C. Johnstone, the well-known Waitetuna breeder, whose sheep sold to 17 guineas, 33 of this vendor’s offering being sold at an average of 134 guineas. The Jos. Palmer Estate’s sheep from Feilding sold to 16 guineas, Mr W. W. Johnstone’s consignment from Te Kuiti selling to 154 guineas, a consignment from Mr D. E. Houghton, Bunnythorpe, realised 154. guineas, with Mr F. B. N. Gibbison, from Kauroa, selling to 15 ginueas, E. C. N. Whitelock securing prices to 15 guineas, and Mi> D. P. Whitelock, Hawera, selling sheep to 14 guineas, Mr T. E. Craine, Feilding, reached 13 guineas, with Mr 0. G. Forlong, Bunnythorpe, selling to 111 guineas. Top price for studs was secured by Mr W. C. Small, the well-known Feilding breeder, who sold to 40 guineas, Mr T. E. Craine securing 37 gineas for a particularly good-quality sheep. The sale was conducted by Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Company, Limited, G. W. Vercoe and Company, Limited, and Newton King, Limited, with Messrs J. T. McCaw, P. G. Ver::oe, W. L. Patterson, arid Arthur Smith in the rostrum. Mr G. A. Walsh, of Cambridge, acted as breeders steward', with Mr F. T. Seddon, of Puketaha, as inspector.
